AstroDIY: We found the school!

Quite some time since we finished the AstroDIY dobsonian telescope, we finally found a school in Berlin that will receive the telescope for astronomical education of ther pupils.
It is the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Gymnasium and we are happy the this school will make the telescope available to pupils and teachers for their astronomical curriculum. Currently, we are searching for a specific date where we officially can donate the AstroDIY telescope to the school.

Autofocus - finally!

Ever since I installed my 4" Focuser on the Starfire, I was also using the Optec FocusLynx for remote focusing. It also offers a temperature compensation feature, but this requires some preparation I never took time to configure.

FFC - my new Barlow lens

Ever since I used the Starfire, I've always crept around another optical treasure that would perfectly complement my refractor. However, not only the price, but also the additional expense of further accessories and requirements for storage and use of the device have kept me from finally buying it. But that is over now!

The big day!

Early in the morning of the day of astronomy we came back to the and started to prepare our exhibition area. Of course, the self-made telescope should be the eye-catcher on a central presentation platform and we wanted to build interesting and exciting presentations surrounding the telescope.
